The Mad River Planning District has just signed a contract with a consulting team which includes:
- SE Group: A planning and design firm with four offices throughout the US that benefits from more than 50 years of experience working with, creating and sustaining some of the world’s most beautiful places; including right here in Vermont. We primarily work in locations that are influenced by visitation and tourism, seek to promote access to the outdoors and where planning for the future is a central community objective.
- Broadreach Planning & Design: Based in Charlotte, Vermont, Broadreach Planning & Design brings a local commitment to project excellence and client satisfaction to every project we undertake in Vermont or beyond.
- Lamoureux & Dickinson: Lamoureux & Dickinson was founded in 1985 to provide quality civil engineering and surveying services. In the years since, our firm has grown to be a leader in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects.
The project funded in partnership by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD), Towns of Fayston, Moretown, Warren, & Waitsfield, the Mad River Valley Rotary Club and the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Through a robust public involvement process, the MRV Moves Active Transportation Plan will articulate a unified, multi-town, watershed-wide vision for recreational trails and non-motorized transportation facilities, how they integrate with economic development, enhance visitor experiences, enhance residents’ quality of life, and improve transportation choices.
The MRV Moves Plan will implement this broadly held vision through the identification of specific goals and action steps needed to develop, maintain, and promote non-motorized transportation facilities in the MRV as community assets for residents and visitors. Moreover, implementation of the plan will be further enhanced through broad public input and involvement and by gaining wide public and decision-maker support.
The MRV Moves Plan will be directed by a steering committee which includes representatives from member towns, VTrans, the MRV Chamber, the MRV Rotary Club, the Mad River Riders, the Mad River Path Association, and others.
